Mark Harmon and Tricia O’Kelley will star in the indie romantic comedy “Weather Girl.”
Andy Richter and Blair Underwood also are in final negotiations to join the cast.
The film centers on a Seattle morning show weathergirl (O’Kelley) who, after learning her boyfriend (Harmon) has cheated on her, is fired after freaking out on-air. Forced to move in with her little brother and to cope with being 35, single and unemployed, she begins an unlikely romance with a younger man — her brother’s best friend.
Patrick J. Adams (“Friday Night Lights”) has been cast as Byron, the younger man, while Ryan Devlin (“Veronica Mars”) will play O’Kelley’s younger brother and Kaitlin Olson (“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”) will play Harmon’s co-host.
Jane Lynch (“The 40-Year-Old Virgin”) also has been cast as the manager of a restaurant who hires O’Kelley to wait tables.
Also cast are Marin Hinkle, Alex Kapp Horner and Enrico Colantonio.
The film, being directed by Blayne Weaver through his Secret Identity Prods., is set to begin production this month and is expected to complete filming in March. Weaver is producing along with O’Kelley.
Harmon, who stars on CBS’ “NCIS” and is on hiatus from the show because of the writers strike, is repped by Paradigm and Image Management Public Relations.
O’Kelley (“The New Adventures of Old Christine”) is repped by Innovative and Verve Entertainment.
